Prepare to Be Prepared!

With the many disasters that have happened across America we at the University Orthopaedic Center have strengthened our resolve to be prepared for an event. This means having each member of the UOC team playing their part in the event of a disaster. Due to the many unknown variables we can only do our best to prepare for the worst.

A little information about preparedness. When a disaster strikes, being prepared is not what you were planning to do but what you've already done.

As everyone here will potentially have a role in a disaster we want to train each of you to know your part fluently. We will be making disaster Code Cards for each month and in addition to reviewing them with your groups lead we will have them available for further review on the UOC Blog. Each Code Card with have a new lesson each month so that everyone with a role card is ready to participate in the event of a disaster. We also will go over how you can assist or even take over for others in the event that they are not present.

On September 12th from 11-1:00 we would like for you to take a little extra time to meet with Kip and Joe at their table as they present the UOC with more Disaster Preparedness information outside the UOC Cafeteria.

See the attached disaster preparedness minutes. These will be posted here after each meeting for staff to review and respond accordingly.
Thank you for being a part of the University Orthopaedic Team!
