Earthquake Exercise April 17 -- What You Need to Know
To All UUHC - Hospitals and Clinic Staff and Employees:
Next Tuesday, April 17 at 9:07 a.m. Salt Lake City will be
hit with its biggest (simulated) earthquake in more than 300 years.
Unfortunately, real earthquakes aren’t scheduled in advance. If next week’s
event was the real thing, would you know what to do?
Research shows that how we train for crisis is the best
indicator of how we’ll respond in a crisis. Below and attached is
information to help prepare you for next week’s earthquake exercise. Please
take a moment to review.
As always, the top three things you can to do to personally
prepare you and your family for an earthquake (or any type of crisis):
1.
Make a plan
2.
Get a kit
3.
Get/stay trained
Information (and samples) on how to accomplish all three
goals is available on the intranet at: http://intranet.uuhsc.utah.edu/emergency/Personal%20Preparedness/index.html
Should you have any questions or need further clarification
about next week’s earthquake exercise please let me know.
Thank you for your help and participation!
