Please Help Me in the Fight Against Cancer!
Please help me to raise money for the Rock the "U" Foundation! Rock the "U" is an event that takes place each year at the University of Utah to raise money for cancer research. On average about 1500 people die of cancer everyday in the US. Cancer is the 2nd leading cause of death in the US, and the World Health Organization expects the number of people diagnosed with cancer to raise 50% by 2020.
Rock the "U" is taking place on Friday, March 22 from 7pm-7am on Saturday, March 23. People from all over the state and country are invited to attend. The reason it is a 12-hour dance marathon is to show people the struggle that cancer patients go through each day, and how exhausting it can be. We ask anyone who has survived cancer, known someone with cancer, or surviving cancer to come participate in the event and try to raise money to kick this ailment in the butt! There will be many activities going on besides dancing such as: airbrush tattoos, free food, photobooth, massages, oxygen bar, button making, and much more! This is the U's largest student run philanthropic event, and the goal this year is to raise $50,000! So far we have raised about $10,000 but it is not nearly enough! I am asking you to support the fight against cancer and please donate to our foundation. Anything can help even if it is just a dollar. At the bottom of this note is a link to my donation page and you can pay with a credit/debit card, and it a secure website run by the University of Utah. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me. If you are looking for more information on our event, or you would like to participate in the dance-a-thon you can visit: www.rocktheu.utah.edu
Thank you so much for taking your time to read over this note! If you are willing, would you please forward this on to your family and friends so we can get the word out! Thank you so much!
