Tis the Season'

Hello Orthopaedic Staff and Faculty,

We want to thank you for your participation in the food drive for the Utah Food Bank and for bringing in your coats, warm hats, gloves, and hygiene for the Utah Rescue Mission.

We will have a box on the second floor for your donations the week of Dec 10th and on the third floor the week of the 17th.

Here is a note from Chris, Manager of Business Services about the Food Bank drive.

Good afternoon,

University of Utah Healthcare staff and families have once again hosted an outstanding food drive.  But we’re not done yet!  To date, between online donations, cash donations, food contributions, volunteer hours and bean soup purchases, we are at approximately 118,000 pounds equivalent given.  This is outstanding, and it would not be possible without you and the work you have put in.  Let’s make one more push over the next several days to reach our goal of 150,000 pounds.  Please remind your co-workers:

·         If they have not filled their paper bags, please do so, and drop it off at one of our collection locations
·         If they still want to donate online, they can do so at: www.utahfoodbank.org/uuhc
·         If they still want to come to one of the volunteer sessions, we still have open spots.  We have had great fun at the sessions we have already had, and would love to see you and your family and friends there.
·         And if they are still looking for a great holiday gift for someone, we still have many bags of bean soup, complete with a recipe card in the cafeteria, gift shop and deli locations.

If your department has been collecting cash donations, please start to get them to the gift shop soon, so we may count and include them.  Your help in this endeavor is greatly appreciated, especially by all of those who struggle with hunger and will benefit from your generosity.

Thanks,

Chris Shirley
