University of Utah Orthopaedic Team Wins AAOS Award of Excellence
The University of Utah Orthopaedic Center has members that attend and
often present exhibits at the American
Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Meeting. This year it was in San
Francisco, California. These exhibits are rated on their contribution to
medical or scientific knowledge and on their overall presentation.
This year one of our teams from the University of Utah Orthopaedic
Center* were selected for the AAOS Award of
Excellence for their efforts. The exhibit was presented by Christopher Pelt,
MD, with coauthors Jill Erickson, PA-C and Christopher
Peters, MD.
*Also, contributing authors to this exhibit were, Ian C. Clarke,
PhD; Thomas K. Donaldson, MD; from Donaldson Arthritis Research
Foundation Lab, Loma
Linda California and Edward J. McPherson, MD from - LA Orthopaedic Institute, California.
They were recognized for their
research on Metal on Metal Total Hip Arthroplasty implants at the time of
revision.
We would like to extend our
congratulations to this team for their effort and our appreciation to all the
representatives of the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center that presented at
the event.
